On October 10, 1975, the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act (PSCIA) was passed – marking a transformative moment in New Zealand’s educational history. This landmark legislation was the result of nearly a century of advocacy by church and religious school communities, securing vital rights and responsibilities for proprietors and paving the way for a more inclusive education system.

This year, APIS proudly commemorates the 50th anniversary of the PSCIA with a special publication that honours the journey, the people, and the progress of state integrated education across Aotearoa.

The publication will launch this October, accompanied by a celebration that reflects our enduring theme: Stronger Together.

Join us as we reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a future built on unity, diversity, and shared purpose.
